
Property Tax Agent
Job Summary:
The Property Tax Agent, with the Tax Analysis and Reporting Center, has overall responsibility to serve as the Client's contact for providing property tax services and support for its ongoing business, including affiliates. The Property Tax Agent will be located in Houston, TX and will manage a specific geographic area and will perform services, including, but not limited to the following: determining rendition values, preparing and negotiating property valuations, working property tax audits, monitoring new legislation, working with the business to prepare property tax accruals. The Property Tax Agent will work under the day to day direction of the Region Manager.
Primary Job Functions:
- Review property tax payments and insure that all amounts owed are timely paid
- Determine rendition values
- Prepare and negotiate property valuations
- File for exemptions and special valuation allowances
- Work property tax audits
- Analyze state and local laws to insure compliance
- Determine the impact of new legislation on assessment and payment practices
- Explore lawful and ethical approaches to valuation reduction
- Prepare business units property tax accrual tax forecasts
Job Requirements:
- B.S. in Economics/Finance/Business
- Willing to travel domestically
- Demonstrated work experience in property valuation and negotiations
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and manage short deadlines
- Proficiency in the use of computer software (e.g., Excel, Access) and possesses excellent administrative and organizational competencies
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills
